Obituary of Kathryn E. Vandecar
Kathryn Vandecar, 78, a resident of Gansevoort, passed away Thursday, March 28, 2024, at Saratoga Hospital, following a brief illness.
She was born July 23, 1945, in Saratoga Springs, NY, to the late Milton and S. Marie (Brown) Post.
Kathryn loved her family more than anything in this world. She worked as a Graphic Designer for Web Graphics in Queensbury, for over 26 years, retiring at the age of 73. She also delivered the newspaper for the Post Star for 30 years.
Kathryn was an animal lover, cats, dogs, horses, and turkeys to name a few. Kathryn always stayed busy and was an exceptional crocheter and needle worker. She made the absolute best peanut butter brownies and will be remembered for her beautiful smile and warm demeanor.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husbands, Edward Nelson Lindstrand and Robert Vandecar; son, Matthew Lindstrand; infant daughter and sisters, Sandy Vance, and Lorraine Smith.
She is survived by her two sons, Michael (Brenda) and Christopher (Lisa) Lindstrand of Gansevoort; 3 grandchildren;; 1 great-grandson; brother-in-law, Wayne Vance; several nephews and extended family.
Family and friends may pay their respects to Kathryn from 12 to 1 pm on Thursday, April 4, 2024, at Flynn Bros, Inc. Funeral Home, 13 Gates Avenue, Schuylerville, NY, 12871. A funeral service will immediately follow at the funeral home.
Following her service, she will be laid to rest in the Gansevoort Cemetery.
