Obituary of Ruth Keeley Rubey
Ruth A. Keeley Rubey, 83, a former resident of Schuylerville, passed away suddenly at her home Tuesday, September 6, 2011 in Leeâs Summit, MO. Born July 12, 1928 in Northumberland she was the daughter of the late Leroy and Eliza Knowlton Wendell. Ruth attended Schuylerville Schools and worked for many years in the paper mills in Thompson and Victory Mills, NY. She loved her flowers, the Yankees, and most of all her family. She took special pride in her grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husbands, John âJackâ Keeley in 1982 and Fred Rubey in 2005; her brother, Stewart Wendell; and sister, Mildred OâQuinn. Survivors include her 2 sons, John (Georgia) Keeley of Greenwich, Michael (Penny) Keeley of Leeâs Summit, MO; 2 daughters, Lisa (Ed) Ray of Valley Fork, West Virginia and Karen (Steve) Marsh of Scotia, NY; and sister, Shirley Mabb of Clifton Park. âNannyâ also leaves her beloved 12 grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and dear friends in Missouri and New York State. A funeral service will be held at 11am Saturday, September 10, 2011 at Flynn Bros. Inc., Funeral Home, 13 Gates Ave., Schuylerville with Rev. Martin Fisher, officiating. Burial will follow in St. Maryâs Cemetery, Schuylerville. Friends may call on Saturday from 9-11am prior to the service at the funeral home. Memorials can be made to the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA).
