Obituary of Mary E. Davis

Mary E. “Mima” Davis, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, May 6, 2011 surrounded by her loving family. Born Mary Elizabeth Jennings on July 2, 1939 to the late Frank “Ty” Jennings and Katherine Donahue Jennings in Cambridge, NY. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by brothers, Frank, Jerry, and Don “Sarge”Jennings. She was a graduate of Greenwich Central School and married Rae D. “Pete” Davis on October 12, 1957. She started waitressing at the Corners Restaurant in 1954 and then waitressed and hosted at Wallie’s Restaurant of Greenwich for 28 years. Mary was a beloved wife, mother, aunt, grandmother, and great grandmother. She was devoted to her family and she was their #1 fan at all of their ball games over the years. She is survived by Pete, her loving husband and best friend of 55 years; as well as her son Rae D. (Debbie) Davis Jr. and daughter, Mary Beth (Leo) Flynn of Greenwich; her nephew Tom (Barbara) Jennings and niece Beth (Ken) Charron who were raised by Mary and Pete. The loves of her life were her grandchildren Brian (Stephanie) Davis, Kaitlin (Fred) Davis-Wolff, Jon Davis, Jake (Tabitha) Davis-Barron, Lindsey Flynn, Chris Flynn, Jason Flynn, Jesse Lamb, Tyler Lamb, Chelsea Charron and Chris McKinney; great grandchildren, Noah Davis, Olivia Davis, Casey Wolff, Mackenzie Wolff, Bradley Wolff, Asher Davis and Zethra Brookins; her special family members, Martha Davis, Erica Lamb and Erica’s children, Riley and Marshall. A funeral mass will be held at 10am Tuesday, May 10, 2011 at St. Joseph’s Church, Greenwich with Rev. Liam Condon, officiating. Burial will follow in St. Joseph’s Cemetery. Friends may call on Monday from 6-8pm at Flynn Bros. Inc. Funeral Home, 80 Main St., Greenwich. On behalf of Mary, the family would like to thank Leisha and Lisa from Hospice for their care and Drs. DelGiacco, Ying, and Kondo of Saratoga Hospital and the Nursing Staff on C-3 for their wonderful care of Mary over the past few months. Memorials can be made to the Greenwich Fire Department or the Easton Greenwich Rescue Squad.
