Obituary of Christel E. Ryan

Christel W. Ryan, 70, of Greenwich, NY died suddenly at her residence just before Christmas. 

Christel was born on December 5, 1947 in Orange, NJ.  She was the daughter of the late Walter and Christel Weller. 

Christel earned her B.S. in Mathematics from the University of Arizona.  She went on to earn her M.S. of Mathematics from Seton Hall University, and an executive MBA from Harvard University.  Christel was an information system executive and author with over 25 years of experience in the information technology industry.  Christel enjoyed hobbies such as gardening, cooking, reading and loved spending time with her family. 

Christel is survived by her husband of 41 years, Kenneth Ryan; her brother Walter Weller III of Lexington, KY; her daughter Friederika Mell of Apache Junction, AZ; her daughter Elizabeth Fendt of Cornwall, NY; her daughter Julia Gustafson of Lake Hopatcong, NJ; her son Kenneth Ryan, Jr. of Dingmans Ferry, PA; her daughter Kelly Ryan of Hackettstown, NJ; and 9 grandchildren.

Christel was predeceased by her parents and sister, Cheryl.

Services will be held at 12pm Friday, January 5 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, 149 Lake Avenue, Saratoga Springs, NY, 12866.l

Interment will follow Christel’s services at the Gerald BH Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery in Schuylerville, NY.
