Obituary of Shirley E. Harding

Shirley E. Harding, 84, a resident of Fly Summit in Greenwich, passed away peacefully Sunday, April 30, 2017 at Saratoga Hospital surrounded by her loving family.

She was born April 18, 1933 in North Adams, MA to the late Ernest Smith and Katherine Rumley.

Shirley was a loving mother to her two children and grandmother to her four grandchildren.  She loved all types of wildlife especially watching her birds on her numerous bird feeders.  She loved the excitement of playing her special numbers, trying her luck at the lottery daily.  Shirley would look forward to reading her favorite newspapers, The Post Star, Saratogian, and Eagle every morning.  She loved her trips to the Hannaford Supermarket and Stewart’s Shop.

She was predeceased by her loving husband Robert W. Harding and sisters Helen and Eleanor.

Survivors include her loving children, Melissa Best Harding of Cambridge, Robert (Blanche) Michael Harding of Greenwich; grandchildren Becca Nicole Harding, Malachi Best, Isiah Hockett and Nathaniel Bishop.

There will be no prior calling hours and funeral services will be private.
